Take Action Now on HB4645 (the Equity + Representation in Health Care Act)

The Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) is partnering with Cook County Health to champion HB4645 – the Equity + Representation in Health Care Act. This important bill aims to strengthen diversity and representation in the healthcare workforce by prioritizing candidates who are from underrepresented backgrounds. Having healthcare providers who better reflect the patient population served has been shown to improve patient experience and outcomes. Further, by creating student loan repayment and scholarship programs for healthcare workers willing to serve in underserved communities, this legislation will also strengthen access to care where it is needed the most in our state.
