Community Health Partnership of Illinois

This week, leadership from Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP), including our President & CEO, Dr. Eleace Sawyers, and key staff members, traveled to Washington, D.C., for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) 2026 Policy & Issues Forum.

The forum provided a vital platform for the health center movement to share collective accomplishments and address the systemic challenges organizations face nationwide.

In addition to the conference, our team held strategic meetings with members of Congress to advocate for our communities.  On Tuesday, February 10th, CHP met with Congresswoman Lauren Underwood to personally thank her for her instrumental support in securing over $1 million in federal funding for the expansion of the CHP Mendota Health Center.

On Hill Day, Wednesday, February 11th, Dr. Sawyers also met with other representatives to discuss critical needs regarding federal funding, workforce development, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring that our patients continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve.
